Bioflavonoids
Bioflavonoids are plant nutrients which give plants their colour, flavour and resistance to disease. They have antioxidant properties and are potent anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anticancer and antiviral agents. They also eliminate endotoxins in the liver, strengthen and repair broken capillaries, varicose veins and cardiac irregularities. Many flavonoids are more effective than vitamin C or E and they increase absorbility of vitamin C .

Glutathione
Glutathione is composed of three amino acids glycine, cysteine and glutamic acid and is considered to be the most important antioxidant to overall health. Oxidative stress can cause the HIV virus to reproduce , increase immune inflammatory responses , increasing cell death, increasing toxity and chronic weight loss. Glutathione has powerful antixoidant properties which lowers oxidative stress. In test tube studies, glutathione kills the AIDS virus. Unfortunately, this does not occur in humans ,but it does have important immune enhancing effects for those afflicted with the virus. It improves the immune function by protecting phagocytes from the free radicals they use to kill infectious microorganism.

Lipoic acid
Lipoic acid serves many functions and is used for conditions such as liver problems, diabetes, heavy metal poisoning , radiation damage , AIDS , neurodegenerative disease.
It functions both as fat-soluble and water-soluble antioxidant and has intracellular and intercellular effects. It also protects both water-soluble and fat soluble antioxidants like vitamin C and E. in its reduced form lipoic acid is known as dihydrolipoic acid (DHLA). DHLA acts synergistically with other antioxidants and also regenerates vitamin C and E from their inactive forms. Lipoic acid supplementation has been shown to be protective against symptoms of vitamin C and E deficiency. Furthermore, DHLA stimulate the production of glutathione which is essential for proper cellular functioning.
Lipoic is a cofactor in mitochondrial activity and plays a vital role in metabolism.
Lipoic acid protects liver by increasing the metabolism of liver cells which enhances regeneration and can be administered for mushroom poisoning, alcoholic liver degeneration and primary cirrhosis.
It also shows promise in the treatment of AIDS by preventing the replication of HIV, improving antioxidant status and increasing the number of helper T cells.
Lipoic acid is used in the treatment against diabetes. It fights against insulin resistance, stimulate cell uptake of glucose and protects pancreatic cells making insulin.
